I would have to disagree with the tons of light bc it’s a bilevel. That comment was more specific to maybe the home you were in, and other factors like positioning of home, etc. they aren’t so cool.

I loved my bilevel when we first got it - 18 yrs ago. Now? The stairs are a KILLER on my old knees and the layout of a bilevel makes it a bit inconvenient trying to find a suitable place to install an elevator. We did tear out the wall between the small main upper level bath and the smaller master bath and converted them into one full bath/laundry room so I could do the laundry again. Now I'd like to expand the lower level half bath to a full bath so we can have two full baths again. I'd prefer a ranch house now that the kids are grown or somehow find a way to install an elevator without losing space anywhere in the house. Yeah, right. HAHAHA

Great topic! Since my mom died at the beginning of the pandemic, we’ve cared for my dad at my parents family home and our pooled money has allowed him to stay in the same home. We are about to hit year three, and the Stellars are aware by year four we are looking to help him cash out and find a property where we have a more even split of the property but likely still cohabitate as it’s been incredibly rewarding to live together and to share expenses.😊

If i have a first floor bedroom....and it has two exits into the adjoining kitchen and hallway..can that be considered a bedroom? Also do buyers ask for new windows if you have older windows

They weren’t wrong

I grew up in a four bedroom Bi-level house in the sixties and seventies. There was an actual foyer when you came in the front door. The family room down the lower level was huge that you could add a fifth bedroom if you wanted too. As for the appliance situation, it’s no worse than getting a washer/dryer down a dark unfinished basement. I miss that house.

I have a Nick name for rancher homes I sometimes like to call them Senior-style homes because remember how when you are really old you want to have a home with just a first floor and that’s it that why I like to call them Senior-style homes

After being raised in a brick ranch and lived in many different style houses nothing satisfies like a brick ranch. Low maintenance, efficient, spacious garden, 1 story (almost...game room up), attached garage, and you have design options!

I’m going to list my uptown condo for sale FSBO in May. That’s one more property to add.
